The laboratories of the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT) received a highly commended certificate at the Ulster University Placement Employer of the Year Awards ceremony, held last month. The laboratories in the trust facilitate a 52-week placement programme each year for up to eight Ulster University students undertaking the degree programme in biomedical sciences.
From a total of 175 applications, 18 employers were shortlisted across six sectors, with the laboratories in the BHSCT placed in the public sector category. To be shortlisted and presented with this certificate was a great achievement and recognition of the commitment the BHSCT laboratories provide to the Ulster University placement students each year.
Institute members Christine Whiteside, Training Officer, Histopathology, and Sean Conlan, Immunology Manager and Laboratory Training Coordinator are pictured accepting the certificate. The IBMS congratulates all the trainers, mentors and staff involved with training throughout the BHSCT laboratories.
