A matter of concentration

Genevac has launched a new range of affordable centrifugal concentrators for molecular biology applications.

The miVac range is the product of extensive market research around the world and has been designed to meet the requirements for careful and speedy drying in most biological applications. Special methods for drying aqueous and alcohol-based samples are included in all the miVac models. The range features capacity from six to twelve stacked shallow-well microplates or 64 to 200 microcentrifuge tubes (1.5 mL). The miVac range features full LCD display with digital controls and programming of time and temperature. A range of matching vacuum pumps is also available, including two-head and for-head diaphragm pumps and an ultra-low vacuum Scroll-type pump. Claimed to provide best-of-class performance, miVac systems will allow scientists working with DNA, RNA, peptides, oligonucleotides and proteins to concentrate or dry their samples safely and swiftly. In addition, a refrigerated cold trap will be available as an add-on unit for miVac concentrators to speed concentration and recover waste solvent.
