Greater Glasgow Health Board (GGHB) has selected Abbott Diagnostics, in conjunction with third party suppliers, to provide instruments, tests, laboratory automation and other laboratory management services to hospitals in the GGHB community for a seven-year period.

The contract is the largest for pathology provision ever awarded in Europe. Core testing will be standardised throughout the area, further enhancing the consistency and efficiency of the diagnostic testing process at these facilities. GGHB chief executive Tom Divers said: ôA key part of this agreement was the ability of Abbott, together with third party suppliers, to provide a wide selection of diagnostics instrumentation and configurations to best meet our adult and paediatric hospital testing needs.ö
