Gram-negative positive

Acolyte Biomedica has just developed its first life sciences research assay based on adenylate kinase (AK) technology.

BacLite RapiTECT GN is designed for rapid and sensitive enumeration of Gram-negative bacterial cells. Performance data compare favourably with current methods, including ATP bioluminescence. The time to result is determined by assay design, but typically the enumeration results can be achieved in minutes, and growth-based results within a few hours. AcolyteÆs Marc Green commented: ôUsers can incorporate any commercially available nutrient medium and solutions typically used in microbiology, or use bespoke sample matrices. The assay lets users add substances to their standard nutrient media, such as antimicrobial agents or growth supplements.ö
