Shimadzu is introducing the GCMS-QP2010s gas chromatography/ mass spectrometer, which delivers high throughput and a good cost-to-performance ratio.

The instrument features constant linear velocity for optimum separation, 20 temperature ramps and both scan and SIM modes. The latter enables monitoring of up to 64 sets of ions with up to 64 ions per set Ă» potentially determining hundreds of compounds simultaneously. Time-based scan and SIM modes with 64 changes in each run maximise flexibility. Designed for EI mode only, the QP-2010s has mass stability of 0.15 daltons in 48 hours. Design innovations include post-quadrupole focusing lenses, redesigned ion optics and front access for easy maintenance. The GCMSolution data station fully controls and processes data for any analysis. Classical spectrum permits the rapid identification of unknowns using commercial libraries, thus making the QP-2010s ideal for high-throughput applications. Accessories include an autoinjector, injection system and the PY2020 D pyrolyser.
