Clearing system for lipaemic samples

First, the lipaemic serum/plasma sample is added to the StatSpin LipoClear prefilled tube, mixed and left to stand for five minutes. Then the sample is centrifuged and StatSpin offers a choice of centrifuges according to individual requirements.

With the StatSpin MP centrifuge, two lipaemic samples can be cleared in just 95 seconds. Alternatively, the StatSpin Express 2 can process up to four samples in three minutes, in addition to rapid serum or plasma production for other applications in tube sizes up to 5 mL. The final option is the StatSpin Express 3, which can process up to eight samples in three minutes, as well as rapid serum or plasma production for other applications in tube sizes up to 10 mL.

Once centrifuged, clarified samples are removed for analysis and the results are multiplied by a factor of 1.2. StatSpin LipoClear is safe and effective, and most common analytes, including enzymes and bilirubin, are not affected by the clearing procedure.
