After a rigorous procurement process, public sector recruitment specialist Maxxima has been awarded master vendor status for the supply of temporary allied health professionals (AHPs) and health science service (HSS) staff to NHS organisations throughout the East Midlands region.
The Maxxima collaborative comprises two specialist suppliers, with Labmed Recruitment supplying all AHP and HSS professions except occupational therapy and physiotherapy, which will be covered by Piers Meadows Recruitment, a specialist in that field. The partnership was created in December 2006 to provide the NHS with a robust vendor-managed solution able to provide large-scale cost savings while retaining the expert knowledge and attention to detail associated with more specialist agencies in the market.
There are also likely to be substantial cost savings as a result of Maxxima’s appointment, with the master vendor exercising far greater control of temporary staffing expenditure, while working with the trusts involved to reduce their dependency on locum cover in the long term.
