Abbott Diagnostics has expanded its ARCHITECT family of analysers with the introduction of the ARCHITECT c16000 clinical chemistry analyser and ARCHITECT ci16200, an integrated immunoassay and clinical chemistry analyser.
The ARCHITECT c16000 processes up to 1800 tests per hour, while the ARCHITECT ci16200 can handle up to 2000 tests per hour. The instruments are capable of double the photometric throughput of the existing ARCHITECT c8000 and ci8200 analysers, respectively, while retaining the same physical size.
ARCHITECT analysers improve laboratory efficiency with features such as the capability to prioritise emergency tests, the ability to use common reagents among platforms and sample monitoring. These not only minimise user training but also reduce inventory costs and potential sample contamination, facilitating better results for laboratories, clinicians and, ultimately, patients.
