Cap piercing now a haemostasis standard

Helena Biosciences has added cap piercing as standard to its AC-4 automated coagulation analyser. The AC-4 is the perfect compact analyser for any haemostasis laboratory, claiming performance beyond that of comparable systems in an easy-to-use, ultra-reliable format.

The AC-4 is fully automated, producing fast, accurate and reliable results from coagulation, chromogenic and immunoturbidometric assays. It uses a photometric measurement system with amplified four-channel optics to deliver high precision, even with icteric or lipaemic samples.

Assays and reagents available from Helena for the AC-4 include standard clotting assays (eg PT, APTT, TCT, fibrinogen and factordeficient assays), chromogenic assays (eg protein C, anti Xa and heparin) and immunoturbidometric D-dimer kits. It features fully optimised reagent handling with incubated positions at 37°C, ambient and 15°C, with an onboard colour-coded key for correct reagent placement.
