Camlab receives grant to develop tamper-proof closure

The East of England Development Agency (EEDA) has awarded Camlab a ú40,000 grant from its Proof of Concept Fund to develop a tamper-proof plastic closure system to provide secure sample storage and transportation.

Camlab’s double tamper-proof closure provides security for transport and storage over a wide range of sample collection applications involved with drugs of abuse (DOA) testing, raw material testing and food and supplement testing.

The new bottle and cap system has been designed to be easy to open and close, less costly, smaller and lighter. No special tools or instructions are required to close or open the cap. The use of a compression seal makes it leakproof, and different coloured caps can be used for different applications.

Camlab’s managing director, Ben Sunderland, said: “The EEDA grant will enable us to enhance the numerous application benefits of this innovative product. Indeed, Camlab is prepared to work with customers to tailor the product to meet their specific requirements.”
