Applied Biosystems has launched the GeneMapper ID-X software application to automate routine forensic DNA analysis. The suite of integrated software tools makes analysis more efficient by pinpointing specific samples that require further analysis.

The GeneMapper ID-X software application is an expert system developed with the aid of feedback from forensic laboratories worldwide, and has been designed to reduce routine analytical tasks and increase productivity and efficiency. The software application provides computerised forensic expertise that streamlines the routine review of data required for DNA analysis, eliminating redundant tasks.

The GeneMapper ID-X also incorporates electronic chain-of-custody functionality, which ensures the integrity of forensic data throughout the analysis process.
