Post-mortem guideline from the AAPT

In response to enquiries from its members, the Association of Anatomical Pathology Technology (AAPT) has drawn up guidelines covering the involvement of anatomical pathology technologists (APTs) in post-mortem examinations on friends or relatives.

The AAPT takes the view that any reasonable request from an APT to abstain from any involvement in a post-mortem examination on someone they deem to be a friend or relative should be considered seriously, and a mutually agreeable solution found.
