Interactive risk assessment training

Risk assessments are the responsibility of everyone working in an organisation, not just the health and safety manager, and employees have a legal responsibility to cooperate with their employer’s efforts to improve health and safety.

Safety Media has now made sure that staff will become interested and involved in risk assessment with the launch of its new interactive DVD, 5 Steps – Risk Assessment in Your Workplace, which takes a totally different approach to risk assessment training.

The fun-to-use interactive DVD portrays a series of potentially hazardous scenarios and invites the viewer to choose the correct solution by pressing a button on their remote control. Through interaction with the DVD, viewers are more likely to retain the information provided and less likely to let their attention wander. Opportunities can also be created easily for discussion during the training session if the ‘wrong’ answers are chosen.

The five steps covered by the DVD closely follow Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance and show viewers how to comply with its advice. Specifically designed to be as user friendly as possible, the DVD addresses all these needs in a step-by-step format.
