Real-time measurement of refractive index in liquids

Stratophase has launched a new technology to measures changes in the refractive index of liquids. It is capable of detecting all classes of biological targets, including proteins, viruses and bacteria, as well as changes in the chemical composition of liquids.

At the core of the SpectroSens system is an optical silicon chip, which, by measuring refractive index accurately, analyses changes in a liquid on the surface of the chip. It also measures the binding of antigens to antibodies attached to the chip. The result is a small, versatile and accurate device that can be used for laboratory analysis, process control or biodetection.
