On-board scanning for electrophoresis

Sebia has launched its new Hydrasys 2 system, an automated agarose gel electrophoresis system that builds on the success of the previous Hydrasys instrument. Powered by Sebia’s well-established Phoresis software, the system has a new on-board scanner option for efficient quantification of completed gels following visual interpretation.

The comprehensive Hydragel test portfolio includes proteins, proteinuria, lipoproteins, haemoglobins, LDL/HDL cholesterol, isoenzymes and immunofixation. With the optional high-voltage module, it is also possible to carry out isoelectric focusing for cerebrospinal fluid and á1-antitrypsin assays. Three different gel types can be processed simultaneously and gel configurations can be adapted to meet the needs of individual laboratory workflows.

Compact and user friendly, the Hydrasys 2 system comes with an easy-to-read colour LCD touchscreen for simple operation and offers walkaway automation. Patented sample application methodologies provide enhanced resolution and sensitivity for simple results interpretation, and Sebia professional training and support are all part of the service.
