Priorclave celebrates 20-year anniversary

Laboratory autoclave manufacturer Priorclave is celebrating its 20th anniversary. It was founded by Charles Prior, with a staff of six, in February 1988, in a modest manufacturing facility on the former Royal Arsenal site at Thamesmead, London.

Initially, the company manufactured laboratory autoclaves, climatic test chambers and Go-Kart engines, one of which, the Hornet, gave rise to the distinctive company logo. However, while maintaining a small turnover in bespoke climatic chambers, the design and manufacture of laboratory steam autoclaves quickly developed into the company’s core business.

Priorclave’s first two autoclaves were exported to Ireland, establishing the importance of international trade. A network of overseas distributors and an impressive client list at home and abroad secured the future.

Now, with 35 personnel collectively responsible for developing worldwide markets on virtually every continent and in every major trading centre, Priorclave has grown into a world leader in its field.
