Dedicated archiving facilities in the heart of Wales

CellNass, the Human Tissue Authority-licensed archive management service located in Newtown, Wales, recently completed the development of a new dedicated facility that increases the company’s capacity to archive microscope slides, tissue blocks and other human tissue samples.

The new CellNass building, which was completed in June, makes available an additional 7500 cubic metres of storage capacity and features a high-tech mobile racking system to ensure the cost-effective use of space. The facility is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week for temperature, humidity, intruders and fire, with CCTV and access control to ensure that a secure and stable environment is maintained at all times. The new CellNass facility was opened officially on 3 September by leuan Wyn Jones, Deputy First Minister and Minister for the Economy and Transport on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government.
