Future Health and cord blood storage

An item published in the October issue of The Biomedical Scientist (‘Government Recognition to Boost Cord Blood Usage’ page 848) stated that Virgin Health Bank is “the UK’s only licensed and accredited cord blood bank”.

Subsequently, it has been pointed out that Future Health Technologies is also an accredited cord blood stem cell storage facility, with both MHRA accreditation and a licence from the UK Human Tissue Authority. The Biomedical Scientist is pleased to clarify the situation.
