Following its win in December, Mast Group has succeeded once again, winning the coveted BioHub Birmingham Outstanding Achievement Award at the Medilink UK Awards. Mast Group has been a market-leading manufacturer of in vitro diagnostic products, specialising in microbiology, for over 60 years and continues to be at the forefront of development in this field.
Mast received the award in honour of its flagship product, the Mast Uri System’, an innovative, semi-automated laboratory solution for the microbiological analysis of urine samples. In comparison to traditional bacterial culture-based methodologies, the Mast Uri System offers higher throughputs, simplified processing and rapid turnaround times, while significantly reducing cost and waste.
Upon winning at the event, Howard Rose, Mast Group managing director, said: “We feel very proud to win the Outstanding Achievement Award as we are an SME and we have developed the Mast Uri System ourselves. The demand has been so great that we will shortly be building a new factory.”
