Into a different league: management resources, products and reagents

As a worldwide leader in the field of haemostasis, Stago is setting the standard of excellence in the field, with cutting-edge technologies, products and customer service providing a complete laboratory haemostasis package.

Stago has earned a worldwide reputation for quality and scientific excellence in coagulation since the global company was first established in France almost 70 years ago. Research and development (R&D) underpin its success, with its technology seen as setting the ‘gold standard’ for haemostasis. It is one of the few companies in the world that has developed its in-house research and development capability to be able to design, develop and manufacture its own haemostasis reagents, consumables and analysers.

While most diagnostic companies invest 8–9% of turnover in research and development, Stago spends almost 13%. The result has been an expanding range of products, the latest of which is the next-generation STA-R Max analyser, set for launch in early 2015. Stago systems are designed to operate together, and with other analysers, to create a single system for maximum laboratory performance and efficiency.

Now distributed in over 110 countries, Stago opened its UK business less than 10 years ago, operating from a base in the M4 corridor, in Theale, Berkshire. Starting with a single engineer in 2005, this most recent entrant to the UK haemostasis market has developed from a regional office to a company in its own right, with over 250 systems operating in NHS and private laboratories.
