Images for autoantibody screening

The Image Navigator, available in the UK from Bio-Diagnostics, is an automated microscope that captures images of autoantibody indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) slides, separates the images into controls, possible positives, possible negatives, and titres, and then presents these images to the laboratory professional on separate review screens for easy and quick confirmation and reporting.  The Image Navigator system has been shown to improve accuracy and reproducibility in reading IIF assays.  The system includes a high-quality fluorescence microscope, so samples can be observed by the conventional method as well as in the automated format.

The Image Navigator is able to work with autoantibody immunofluorescence slides including HEp2, HEp-2000, ANCA, nDNA, LKS, EmA and primate tissues. High-quality imaging allows each well to be read in just 30 seconds for cell culture slides and 60 seconds for tissue slides. This efficient workflow allows staff to perform other tasks which will help in overall efficiency. During an independent laboratory study, excellent correlation was achieved against manual reading for HEp2, LKS, ANCA and EmA. Benefits of the system include inbuilt ocular, speed of reading, accuracy, reliability, bidirectional communication, and simplicity to use and set-up.
