The Genomic and Microbiology Revolution: In Technology We Trust?
The 37th Annual Microbiology Conference of the British Society for Microbial Technology (BSMT) is scheduled to take place on Thursday 12 May 2022 at the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon.
The organising committee has confirmed that the keynote speaker will be Professor Sharon Peacock, whose talk is entitled A new era for genomics in clinical microbiology in the wake of SARS-COV-2 sequencing?
Other confirmed speakers include:
Professor Paul Dark (University of Manchester): Developing the best evidence for effective molecular diagnostic technologies in sepsis: impacts of a viral pandemic
Dr Katie Hopkins (UKHSA Colindale): Current methods & problems in testing for antimicrobial resistance
Dr Adela Alcolea-Medina (Viapath, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital): Direct sequencing from clinical specimens for the rapid detection of viruses.
Dr Elaine McCulloch (QCMD): The need for quality control in molecular diagnostics & NGS
