RCPath awards Fellowship to IBMS Past President Debra Padgett

Previous IBMS President and Clinical Pathology Lead and Lead Healthcare Scientist Debra Padgett has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship from The Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath) in recognition of her outstanding contributions to pathology and biomedical science.

Debra commented: “I am truly honoured and humbled to receive the Honorary Fellowship from The Royal College of Pathologists. This recognition reflects not only my personal journey but also the invaluable collaboration between RCPath and the Institute of Biomedical Science in championing the vital role of biomedical scientists in pathology.”

During her time as President and beyond, Debra has highlighted the critical role of biomedical scientists in diagnosis, treatment, and medical innovation, underscoring the importance of strong partnerships in advancing the profession. She also emphasises the development of advanced roles for biomedical scientists as a key solution to workforce challenges, ensuring better patient outcomes and a stronger healthcare system.
