Aiforia, a developer of AI-powered solutions for cancer diagnostics, has won the prestigious ‘Vuoden Digiteko 2026’ (Digital Innovation of the Year) public vote in the enterprise category.
The ‘Vuoden Digiteko’ competition rewards Finnish technology innovations and solutions that have an exceptionally high impact on society, business, and people's everyday lives. The winners of the competition were announced 11 October at the Atea Focus event at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
The jury of the competition justified the selection of Aiforia as a finalist in the competition as follows: "The solution transforms the workflow of pathologists and revolutionises diagnostics. This enables faster treatment, which is why the solution has major societal significance. Aiforia Create enhances precision and patient equality. Innovation is no longer experimental, but widely used, with credibility brought in particular by the Mayo Clinic in the US. The solution has a lot of international potential. From a technology perspective, the solution is fantastic."
Aiforia’s software solutions help pathologists identify cancer from tissue sample images more accurately using AI. This not only streamlines the work of pathologists, but also ensures a more consistent, accurate, and rapid diagnosis for patients regardless of their place of residence.
"We are extremely pleased with this recognition. This win is a great demonstration of our team's dedication and the high standard of Finnish health tech. We remain ambitious in the ongoing development of our solutions, as our goal is to make AI-assisted diagnostics the new global standard," says Jukka Tapaninen, CEO of Aiforia.
