Linked haematology systems arrive

Beckman Coulter now offers 12 standard configurations of its LH 1500 series haematology automation systems.

The configurations include an automation track line in various combinations, able to connect up to four Coulter LH 700 series. This range of high-volume haematology analysers includes the Coulter LH 750 and LH 755 workcells, which benefit from integrated SlideMaker and SlideStainer modules. The refrigerated stockyard option requires the same floor space as the basic 1000-sample stockyard but takes three times as many samples. The LH 1500 series also automates pre-analytical sorting, testing and analysis of results, and post-analytical storage. Samples are placed directly in the inlet module and are routed automatically to a connected haematology analyser via a track system and robotics. After analysis, the tubes are automatically moved and sorted into either an outlet for additional testing or stored in the stockyard, where they may be easily recalled for additional test requests. The systems manage rerun and reflex testing requirements without operator intervention based on programmable decision rules such as age, gender, physician, location and other criteria.
