Lab efficiency improved with WinLIMS

Prior to the installation of WinLIMS, a largely paper-based system was used to record samples and results, which resulted in a bottleneck at the reporting stage. Two years on, with the same staffing levels, sample throughput has increased by 50% and many manual processes have been automated. Erik Thompson, site leader at the Coventry laboratory, said: “Samples are booked into WinLIMS via an electronic spreadsheet. Labels are generated automatically, and laboratory worksheets are printed in minutes.”

Referring to QSI’s new software rental scheme, general manager Bill Thompson said: “We couldn’t have grown as we have without WinLIMS, and it’s now hard to imagine life without it.”
