FFEI is the proud winner of the Institute of Physics (IOP) award for Innovation! The award recognises FFEI for the development of advanced imaging technology in the field of digital pathology.
As cited by the IOP, the award is in recognition of FFEI’s development of advanced whole-slide imaging technology used in the Roche VENTANA DP 200 scanner. The technology enables the generation of ultrahigh-resolution colour calibrated digital images, which has enabled the wider adoption of digital pathology in human tissue and clinical cancer diagnostics.
FFEI developed three new capabilities to increase the speed, quality and accuracy of digital images produced – focus tracking, colour profiling and mechanical accuracy.
