New test for the detection of synovial sarcoma

ProPath has announced the addition of SS18-SSX to its antibody library. It is a fusion-specific antibody that is highly sensitive (95%) and specific (100%) for the detection of synovial sarcoma.

Synovial sarcoma is a rare form of cancer found in different types of soft tissue, such as muscle or ligaments. It’s often seen in the arm, leg, or foot, and near joints such as the wrist or ankle. It can also form in the lung or abdomen. The SS18-SSX test from ProPath will help clinicians identify if their patient has synovial sarcoma.
