The Advancing Healthcare Awards recognise and celebrate the work of allied health professionals, healthcare scientists and those who work alongside them in support roles, leading innovative healthcare practice across the UK.
Over the past 16 years the Awards have developed a real sense of community, not just through the award-winners and finalists but also with the help of loyal sponsors and supporters.
The entry deadline for the national Advancing Healthcare Awards is 24 January 2023, with the awards lunch and presentation ceremony taking pace on 21 April.
Submitting an entry into the Awards presents a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the amazing work of these dedicated healthcare professionals and to be part of the Advancing Healthcare Awards community and networks.
The IBMS is once again sponsoring the Advancing Healthcare Award for Biomedical Scientist of the Year 2023. The category celebrates an exceptional biomedical scientist who has led the way for others in the field, using their skills and expertise to make an impactful change to patients’ lives.
This year’s award for Biomedical Scientist was awarded to Bamidele Farinre, Scientific Advisor at the UKHSA (Lab Validation and Quality Assurance), for her excellent contributions to nationwide pandemic efforts. In particular, her idea to set up a mobile-based testing system for COVID-19 was commended by the judging panel.
