SYNLAB aiming to be the UK’s leading laboratory diagnostics organisation

Diagnostics provider SYNLAB has set out its ambition to become the UK’s leading laboratory diagnostics organisation by 2027. It has unveiled a new vision, purpose and values which set a clear direction for the continued growth and success of each of its services in the UK – The Christie Pathology Partnership, Pathology First, Southwest Pathology Services, Synnovis, Lextox and SYNLAB Laboratory Services.

Across its three service areas of diagnostic and wellness testing, drug and alcohol testing, and NHS pathology partnerships, SYNLAB UK & Ireland currently delivers more than 63 million tests a year via its extensive laboratory network.

Mark Dollar, Chief Executive Officer of SYNLAB UK & Ireland, said: “There are two things that define our people. The first is a uniting passion for science and innovation, and the second is a true pride in our collective ability to make a real difference to people’s lives, health and wellbeing. These themes came up time and again in conversations with colleagues across each of our service areas during the development of our vision and purpose, very clearly identifying who we are and our way forward. As a result of these conversations, our core purpose was defined as making a positive difference to people’s lives, health and wellbeing through science, innovation and high-quality diagnostics.”

In tandem with this core purpose, SYNLAB’s vision is that, by 2027, it will be recognised as the UK’s leading laboratory diagnostics organisation with people, quality and innovation consistently at its heart. This vision and purpose underpin all that SYNLAB does - from the provision of pioneering pathology services to the acquisition and cultivation of the very best talent, from the delivery of outstanding quality standards that can be relied upon to make informed decisions to improving the environmental and social impact of the organisation as a whole.
