Magentus acquires Labflow to expand pathology platform

Magentus, a provider of healthcare technology across the UK and Australia, has announced the acquisition of Labflow, a modern, cloud-native suite of pathology software products.

This strategic move expands Magentus’s global footprint and strengthens its position as a leader in connected, scalable healthcare solutions.

The acquisition will enhance Evolution vLab, Magentus’ enterprise-grade Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), with Labflow’s modern, modular suite of tools. By integrating Labflow, Magentus is accelerating the technology that underpins Evolution vLab. This move strengthens Magentus’ ambition to create a unified, intelligent pathology ecosystem designed to support national networks while meeting the practical needs of local laboratories.

“This is a pivotal moment for Magentus and for pathology providers globally, as well as a major step forward in our commitment to supporting the NHS with future-ready, connected pathology infrastructure,” said Martin Hayden, Chief Strategy Officer at Magentus.

“Labflow’s modular innovation and proven interoperability will unlock new capabilities in Evolution vLab for real-time data exchange, AI readiness and digital diagnostics.”

Magentus currently supports the majority of NHS Trusts and hospitals with radiology solutions and is rapidly expanding its footprint in pathology, with Evolution vLab being implemented across multiple NHS England Trusts and Scotland Boards.

“Joining Magentus allows us to scale our impact and contribute meaningfully to the NHS’s digital future,” said Ben Richardson, CEO of Labflow. “Together, we’re building a platform that empowers clinicians, streamlines operations and delivers safer, more connected care.”

This acquisition reinforces Magentus’s commitment to deliver intelligent, connected healthcare and partnering with NHS organisations to build a healthier, more efficient future.
