Kits for molecular biology applications

Vivantis Technologies has established a European centre to support and promote the sales and distribution of its product range. Vivantis specialises in the production of restriction enzymes, DNA extraction kits, DNA amplification reagents (including kits for molecular biology applications), recombinant enzymes, improved protein stains, markers and ladders. To mark this event, Vivantis is running a promotion for its GF-1 nucleic acid extraction kits, which provide a rapid and efficient method for purification of nucleic acid from various samples.

The purification columns in the kits are fixed with a specially-treated glass filter membrane designed to bind DNA in the presence of high salts. The kit applies the principle of spin mini-column technology and the use of optimised buffers ensure that only DNA and/or RNA is isolated while cellular proteins, metabolites, salts and other impurities are removed during subsequent washing. Water or low salt buffer with the appropriate pH is then used to elute highly pure DNA and/or RNA, ready to use in routine molecular biology applications.

The Vivantis GF-1 nucleic acids extraction kit series is designed to extract DNA from bacteria, plant samples, tissue samples, forensic samples, plasmid, virus and blood samples. They are also designed to extract total RNA, blood RNA and viral RNA. Additionally there are GF-1 kits for gel recovery and a PCR clean-up kit, or the AmbiClean kit which offers both functions in one kit.
