The North East Innovation Lab is part of Newcastle Hospitals and works with organisations of all sizes, from university spin outs to large international companies, supporting the development of next-generation diagnostics.
The laboratory houses cutting-edge technology and a large biobank of well-characterised clinical COVID and other biological samples. Offering a range of specialist expertise, the team includes molecular biologists, life scientists, methodologists and technicians. Clients include companies and organisations from across the UK and around the globe.
The laboratory is proud to have worked on many projects to tackled the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, and is now working on a wider range of innovations to provide greater resilience for fighting future virus and health threats.
